The release of Eulenflucht-Durch Die Nacht

Last week Emily let the cat out of the bag – her fantasy-novel “Eulenflucht – Durch die Nacht” will be finally published in May this year! This news has not only put Emily in paroxsym of joy, we and many other TH-Fans are happy for her too.
After our team had already some time ago the possibility to read a part of the book (you can find the review in the Emily Kay-Support), I (Lisa) had now the honor to read the entire manuscript. And I have to say – the story has fascinated me so much that I have “swallowed” the manuscript literally. In my opinion this book is absolutely worthwhile for every fantasy-fan.
Exciting and mysterious, from beginning to end, and I as a Tokio Hotel-fan can only agree to Emily’s quote “[...] “Geisterfahrer” is like my book [...], just in vocals.”. At the end of the book the connection to the song “Geisterfahrer” became really clear – the song exactly reflects the atmosphere and the desire of the two main characters of the book.
And to make you even a little bit more curious about the book, we asked Emily a few questions about the upcoming release of “Eulenflucht – Durch die Nacht”…

When and where will be “Eulenflucht – Durch die Nacht” published?
Emily: Eulenflucht will be published in May 2011 by Elysion Books. This is a fantasy publishing house who is particularly focused on vampire stories.

From which date on you are able to pre-order the book?
Emily: From now on you can already pre-order the book on Amazon.de. Delivery is then in May.

How did you feel, as you recieved the “green light” (commitment) by Elysion Books?
Emily: I was very relieved because it is very difficult to get a publishing contract, regardless whether it is a publishing group or a smaller publisher. I am very happy that I could keep my promise and that people are actually able to read the book very soon.

Can you tell us anything about the cover of the book?
Emily: Yes, I just developed the cover from “Eulenflucht” with my publisher and the illustrator Ulrike Kleinert. I have seen a preliminary version, that allow us to imagine how it will look like. Since I also belong to the people who buy a book, only because of a great cover, it’s very important for me, that it looks good in the book-shelf.
The cover will contain icon elements that indicate the subject of the book.

You have also revealed, that they will be a trailer for “Eulenflucht – Durch die Nacht”? How can the reader imagine it?
Emily: A book trailer is actually something like a trailer, or preview of a movie. It is a short film that provides a preview of the book. For the trailer there will be filmed sequences, with music and a spoken text by an actor. This allows the reader to get an even better impression of the book. For Eulenflucht we have a very great trailer music, in which I felt in love immediately. I hope, the readers like it as well.

“Eulenflucht – Durch die Nacht” is the first part of your vampire trilogy. Have you already begun to work on part 2?
Emily: Yes, I have already finished the gross design and I hope that I will be able to start part 2 this year. But it could probably run short, because I also write other books and it takes a lot of time.

What kind of whishes and plans do you have for the future?
Emily: I wish, that readers take pleasure in my books, dive into the world of books during reading and have some quality time there. What could be better for an author than satisfied readers?
