"TH in Tokyo" contest winner decided!

Tokio is finally heading over to Tokyo! German band Tokio Hotel, namesake of the bustling Japanese city, will be performing at one of the most happening locations in Asia this December 15 and one lucky fan stands a chance to watch them live.

The up-and-coming band rocketed to fame when ten-year-old twins Bill (vocalist) and Tom Kaulitz (guitarist) began performing around their hometown, Magdeburg, in 2001 with friends Georg Listing (bass guitarist) and Gustav Schafer (drummer). It wasn’t long before they caught the attention of some of Europe’s hottest producers and the rest, as they say, is history.

With hits such as World Behind My Wall and metallic anthem Automatic under their belts, it’s little wonder girls want them and boys want to be them. Tokio Hotel’s two visits here, during the TM Connects with Tokio Hotel showcase/ concert and the 2010 MTV World Stage, were greeted with screaming excitement by hardcore fans who have since repeatedly begged for their return.

“Malaysian fans simply cannot get enough of Tokio Hotel,” says Ally Siw, Label Manager of Universal Music Malaysia. “We first brought them down here because of a petition signed by fans and the fanbase has been growing steadily ever since.”

Universal Music Malaysia has decided to reward one extremely lucky fan with a all-expense paid trip to watch the boys perform at the city they’ve always dreamt of playing at. This incredible prize includes a pair of return flight tickets, accommodation and passes to experience 40 minutes of electrifying pop rock by the German powerhouse band.

“Tokio Hotel’s ___th studio album, Humanoid, has reached gold status here and we decided to reward the fans by sending one of them on a trip he or she will never forget,” says Siw. “Catching Tokio Hotel’s debut concert at the city it’s named after is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity not to be missed.”
To be in the running, fans simply have to purchase the recently-released special edition Humanoid album at any Rock Corner outlet and attach an original receipt to the entry form. The contest will run until 5th December .

The special edition album comes with the Humanoid CD, inclusive of bonus tracks such as live versions of Automatic and World Behind My Wall, and a DVD with exclusive backstage footage, bonus videos and Tokio Hotel TV episodes.
